I grew up in Los Angeles and continue to work there as a studio artist, teacher, and illustrator. I exhibit locally and internationally. 
I’ve been active in the printmaking community since I began practicing print in 2011, during my undergraduate years at Cal State Northridge. I am currently head of the Valley Print Studio, which I founded in 2013. 

In my own work, I create visual poems about the connection between ideas, bodies, and characters. I do this by emphasizing and reimagining the represented contact point between these things. Whether in print, drawing, or painting, my sensibility as an artist is deeply influenced by the methods and aesthetics of printmaking. For me, composition is a process of drafting, layering, and varying.

Ruth Weisberg works primarily in painting, drawing, printmaking and large-scale installations. Artist and professor, she is the former Dean of Fine Arts at the University of Southern California since 1995. Ruth Weisberg is represented by Jack Rutberg Fine Arts in Los Angeles. Weisberg is well known for her paintings reflecting upon the cycle of life; the continuity of generations. The artist also has long held interests in preservation, extinction and survival. Since her arrival in Los Angeles in 1969, Ruth Weisberg has been a formidable influence and mentor to decades of artists in this city and beyond. Her first major survey in Los Angeles was in 1979 at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. She was the first artist exhibited at The Women’s Building (Judy Chicago was simultaneously presented with a solo exhibition to inaugurate that venue). With more than 80 solo exhibitions and nearly 200 group exhibitions internationally, Weisberg is the first living painter to have been afforded a solo exhibition at the Norton Simon Museum of Art in 2008-2009. Weisberg also holds that distinction at The Huntington Library. Ruth Weisberg has executed many ambitious large-scale works, including the 94-foot mixed-media painting “The Scroll,” which was exhibited at the Skirball Cultural Center. She painted the 29-foot mural “New Beginnings: One Hundred Years of Jewish Immigration” as part of a commission from the UJA Federation. The mural was installed in the headquarters’ entrance in New York City. Ruth Weisberg’s work is included in the permanent collections of over 60 museums, including the Metropolitan Museum, National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., Whitney Museum of American Art, Portland Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Getty Research Institute, Norton Simon Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Detroit Institute of Arts, Biblioteque Nationale in Paris, and the Instituto Nationale per la Grafica in Rome, among many others.
When Smith was accepted by the Royal College of Art in London to participate in the Post Experience Programme, which offered him the opportunity to draw from cadavers at the University of London’s School of Medicine, he worked on variations of images, including interpretative anatomical sketches of body parts. These drawings are captured in his powerful series “Silent Orators”.  Additional work on this series includes the lithographs produced in Berlin, Germany, working at the Professional Association of Berlin Artists (BBK) printmaking facilities, as well as etchings from acrylic hard grounds, and the non-toxic etching process using photopolymer film. Smith developed his “Berlin Air Lift” studies drawn in situ at Berlin’s Templehof airport, and later re-interpreted, and printed them as linear images with the photopolymer film process at Berlin’s Druckstelle Printmaking Studios. Continuing his work at BBK, Smith further developed a selection of drawings done in India and produced as lithographs.Other thematic works i.e., Smith’s etching editions of “Warrior Suit of Armor”, “The London Bagpiper” and “Italian Youth”, as well as conté crayon drawings and digital prints, represent interpretations of images captured in selected art museums abroad and in the U.S.  Currently, Smith produces drawings and prints in his printmaking studio in San Diego, California, and works periodically in professional printmaking facilities in Berlin, Germany.Smith’s prints have received juried awards, including a purchase prize by the Pasadena Art Museum for its permanent collection.  His heavily embossed etching triptych titled  ‘Ranger I,II, III’  was  on loan from the Los Angeles County Art Museum Rental Gallery  to the NASA Jet Propulsion  Lab in Pasadena California.  Smith’s work has been shown in numerous private and public solo and group juried exhibitions. His works are currently being prepared for national and international exhibitions, and for public and private galleries and collections.
Born in Greenfield, MA, Ethan Aaron Rice has been indulging his creative and artistic tendencies since childhood, fostered from life in both rural western Massachusetts and the suburban landscapes of New Jersey. What began as constant childhood doodles evolved into a deeper interest in the principles of art and the beginning of a lifelong passion. Ethan graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon highschool in 2001 where he began his studies in art.  He then earned a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art with minors in both Art History and English at the University of Vermont. During his undergraduate years, Ethan also studied abroad in Cortona, Italy at the Lamar Dodd School of Art with the University of Georgia where he was introduced to intaglio printmaking.  His interest in printmaking led him back to Italy to further his education at Il Bisonte Institute of Printmaking in Florence, Italy.  He graduated at the top of his class with a professional printmaking degree in 2007.  Ethan's art has been shown in many international and national shows. He continues to exhibit and enter competitions near and far to connect with more artists.  Presently, Ethan lives in Santa Monica, California where he teaches printmaking classes at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.
