“When I draw on a surface I start perceiving emerging forms. I am curious. Some marks are explicit and others ambiguous. I am usually not aware of anything specific, but follow the impulse to experience fecund possibility. I am intrigued and obsessed with this realm. It is in this state where mystery lives. It is in this state I feel most at home. Mystery in a work is vital for me. Being in the moment and keeping the work alive are the essence. I believe that as individuals, we have our interpretations and perceptions as unique indicators that are more intimate an imprint than our genetics. They inform the mesh of our experience, knowledge and intuition and do somehow become our existence.”

Originally from New York City, Cathie returned to Illinois in the fall of 2004 after living overseas with her husband (three years in Jeddah Saudi Arabia and then three years in Grenoble France).  Since completing her Master of Fine Art degree in 1987 from Bradley University in Peoria, IL, she has concentrated on the color reduction woodcut.   Her work has been included in more than three hundred exhibitions, twenty-five solo exhibitions, seventy juried national shows and fifteen international juried exhibitions since completing a BFA from The Ohio State University.  Crawford has won over thirty-five awards at both the national and regional level.  Her prints have been exhibited in 26 states as well as France, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and the UK.
Born in Greenfield, MA, Ethan Aaron Rice has been indulging his creative and artistic tendencies since childhood, fostered from life in both rural western Massachusetts and the suburban landscapes of New Jersey. What began as constant childhood doodles evolved into a deeper interest in the principles of art and the beginning of a lifelong passion. Ethan graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon highschool in 2001 where he began his studies in art.  He then earned a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art with minors in both Art History and English at the University of Vermont. During his undergraduate years, Ethan also studied abroad in Cortona, Italy at the Lamar Dodd School of Art with the University of Georgia where he was introduced to intaglio printmaking.  His interest in printmaking led him back to Italy to further his education at Il Bisonte Institute of Printmaking in Florence, Italy.  He graduated at the top of his class with a professional printmaking degree in 2007.  Ethan's art has been shown in many international and national shows. He continues to exhibit and enter competitions near and far to connect with more artists.  Presently, Ethan lives in Santa Monica, California where he teaches printmaking classes at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.
